Skenes Ck Coastal Discovery Trail Feasibility Study will commence in September

15 August 2017

The Steering Committee is pleased to advise that Michael Smith and Associates Landscape Architecture and Urban Design has been engaged to undertake the long-awaited Feasibility Study.

The Victorian Government, Colac-Otway Shire, Otway Coast Committee, Apollo Bay Chamber of Commerce and the Skenes Creek Advancement Association are all contributing towards this project. The Steering Committee particularly acknowledges and thanks Colac-Otway Shire for its expert assistance in tendering for a consultant.

Michael Smith and Associates has undertaken a large number of trail feasibility and design projects throughout Victoria. Project managers Michael Smith and Gianina Lopez will lead a multi-discipline consulting team to assess cultural heritage, ecological and environmental issues; prepare economic, business, community facility and architectural plans; undertake stakeholder consultations; investigate engineering, geomorphological, geotechnical and future maintenance challenges; and prepare detailed cost estimates.

Following our most recent conversation with the team leaders, we are anticipating the team will commence on-site assessments and stakeholder discussions in early to mid-September.
