14th May 2018


Wednesday 9th May: Men’s 3-man Ambrose, stroke competition was won by B. Coller, P. Forbes and J Nankervis with 52 ½ nett.  Runners up were D .McGrath, M. Dodds and C. Coleman with 55 ½ nett. Nearest the Pins: 1st/10th A grade Don O’Meara, B Grade Peter Forbes and on 9th hole Bernie Coller.

Thursday 10th May: The competition was cancelled due to appalling weather conditions.

Friday 11th May:  In SWGA pennant was also cancelled because of bad weather.  Match may be replayed later.

Saturday 12th May: The Apollo Bay men’s team of David Wagstaff, Don Wagstaff, Jason Newcombe and Rocky Dimieri won the Winchelsea Shield with 108 points.  David Wagstaff also won a trophy for the best individual score of 40 points.

 Sunday 13th May:

Men’s stableford competition, was won by Don O’Meara with 41 points.  Runner-up Rod Beecroft had 38 points.  Nearest the pin on 1st/10th was Chris Hansen and on 9th/18th- Don O’Meara.

Monday 14th May: Women’s 9 hole stableford competition which was a mystery pairs stableford event was won by Jan Coleman 18 points and Sandra Toone 13 = 31 points.  The runners-up with 29 points were Jeanette Dodds and Sami Oguzhan.  Jan Coleman was also nearest the pin on 1st/10th hole.



Coming up

Fri. 18 May - A 2-course dinner comprising of soup and beef Bourguignon with mash will be held at 6.30.  The cost is $10, please book with Helen 0417 305 618.

A working bee to clean buggy room etc, and a BBQ and 9 holes of golf on Saturday 2nd June has been proposed.

Pennant dinner for women players, not just the pennant team will be held on Friday 1st June put your name on the list at the club house.


New players are invited to join our Monday Women's competitions for $6 and clubs can be provided.  Beginners are welcome.  Hit off is 1pm, however, arrive at 12.15 to organise clubs, cards etc and register your name.
