Great Ocean Road Update
October 17, 2016
A small section of the Great Ocean Road between Lorne and Wye River is closed.
All towns are accessible either from the east or the west.
The Great Ocean Road is open through to Lorne and from Wye River to Apollo Bay.
Lorne can be accessed via the Great Ocean Road and the Deans Marsh-Lorne road.
Apollo Bay, Skenes Creek, Wongara, Kennett River and Wye River are all open for business and can be accessed via inland routes.
For visitors wanting to still experience the Great Ocean Road
- Visitors can travel through to Lorne then head inland along the C151 and then down the C119 through Forrest to Apollo Bay to continue their journey along the Great Ocean Road. Although this adds an additional 40km, this route takes you through the Great Otway National Park a haven for wildlife and home to amazing waterfalls which are at their picturesque best, post rain.
- The 12 Apostles can be accessed via any of the inland routes and the Great Ocean Road from Apollo Bay.
Warrnambool, Port Fairy and Portland can be accessed via the Princes & Hamilton Highways.
