Fireguard Groups

In an emergency, the Fire Ready Plan calls for everyone in outlying areas to come into Apollo Bay. For that reason, we haven’t made a group for Apollo Bay residents. However, being in a group would give you useful information about what is happening. So, we’ll start an Apollo Bay group if there is interest. We would need 2 people to set up the WhatsApp group and be our main contacts.

The groups are mainly WhatsApp groups because of the advantage of being able to instantly contact large numbers and also being able to interact within the group. You need a mobile and to have downloaded WhatsApp. Some areas simply don’t have mobile coverage, so telephone trees are sometimes still needed.
