What a wonderful week of golfing weather we had (until Sunday’s Men’s competition when the South Westerly change arrived).

Wed. 10 Feb ’15 – Men’s 18 Holes Stableford 4-Weeker – Round 2

A Grade – Winner – Richard Stone 43 points; Runner Up – Geoff Vesey 40 points

B Grade – Winner – David Hand 40 points; Runner Up – Bruce Amery 37 points

NTP – A Grade – 1st/10th – Ray Matthews; 9th/18th – Colin Coleman; B Grade – 1st/10th – Rick Johnston

Thu. 11 Feb ’15 – Women’s Summer Cup – Round 2

It was a hot and sunny day.

A Grade – Winner – Sandra Toone nett 65; Runner Up – Cheryle Polgeest, nett 69

B Grade – Winner – Caroline Wren with a fabulous nett 62; Runner Up – Jan Coleman nett 67

Putting – A Grade – Cheryle Polgeest (31 putts) c/b from Sandra Toone; B Grade – Jan Coleman (30 putts)

Congratulations to Caroline Wren and Faith Morrissy who both reduced their handicaps.

The weather was overcast with patchy rain.

A Grade – Winner – Harvey Otter nett 60; Runner Up – Jason Newcombe nett 64, c/b from John Nankervis

B Grade – Winner – Alan Rowarth nett 59; Runner Up – Rod Beecroft nett 60

NTP – B Grade – 1st/10th – Rod Beecroft

Blackwood Cup

Sunday’s competition day was also contesting the Blackwood Cup between Colac and Apollo Bay.

Winners – Apollo Bay 368; Runners Up – Colac’s 307 – calculated by each team’s best 10 scores

NTP – 1st/10th – Howard Anderson; 9th/18th – David Robinson

Mon. 15 Feb ’15 – Women’s 9 Hole Stableford

A Grade 0-30 – Winner – Margaret Smith 21 points; Runner Up – Shirley Amery 19 points, c/b from Vicki Hannah

B Grade 31-45 – Winner – the constantly improving Caroline Wren 23 points; Runner Up – Faith Morrissy 18 points, another player who is putting in some great scores

Wed. 17 Feb - Men’s Stableford 4-Weeker – Round 3

Thu. 18 Feb – Ladies Summer Cup – Round 3 – 18 holes stroke flexitime, arrange own playing groups of 3.
Meet afterwards for lunch. Any other past lady members who miss their golfing mates, are also encouraged to join us for lunch.

Fri. 19 Feb – Happy Hour @ 5-7pm. All welcome.

Sat. 27 Feb – Opening day for a Mixed Competition 18 Hole Pinehurst.  Shotgun start @ 1pm.
Spit roast dinner to follow. Please put names on the list as soon as possible for catering purposes.

Golf Lessons

22 February, 6 & 21 March @ 4pm (after golf)

Vicki Thomas will be holding golf lessons for those ladies interested. These sessions are subsidised by a past ladies fundraiser.

Vic MYGolf Program

5 weeks – Fri. 11, 18 March, 15, 22 & 29 April @ 4-5pm

Apollo Bay Golf Club has registered for the Vic MYGolf program. This coincides with the program that will be run at the school for Grades 3-6. MYGolf Junior program cost – $27. Bookings at mygolf.org.au.

Adult clinics

4 weeks – Wed. 2, 9, 16 & 23 March @ 9.15-10.15am
