Results

Sun. 20 May - Men’s Stroke competition: Winner in A grade Bernie Coller 80/65, runner-up Rod Beecroft 85/67.  Nearest the pin 1st/10th was D. Wagstaff and Bill Marlow.

Wed. 23 May - Week 2 of the men’s stroke 4 week competition was won by David Hand with 78/59 and runner-up John Nankervis scored 79/60.  John also had nearest the pin on  1ST/10TH, as did Willie Kifoto in B Grade. On the 9th/18th Peter Forbes was the most accurate driver.

Thu. 24 May - The women’s stableford competition was won in A grade by Vicki Hannah 26 with runner-up Dawn Thomas 25. In the 31-45 division Jeanette Dodds was the winner with 28 points and Caroline Wren with 22 points was runner-up.

Fri. 18 May -  In SWGA much controversy surrounded the postponing of round 3 (Apollo Bay vs. Lara at Torquay) due to bad weather.  Some matches on either team had to be forfeited as contenders were unable to play another date.  Apollo Bay’s hero was Jenny McKeon who played the decider match on 24th May- which she won on the 18th hole giving Apollo Bay a 3/2 win. The next pennant round, played at the Sands Apollo Bay defeated Torquay 3/2 with wins going to Vicki Hannah, Jenny McKeon and Stacey Thomas. Unfortunately this was not enough to win the whole competition, but congratulations to the team for their wonderful effort.

Sun. 27 May - Men’s 2-man Ambrose competition was won by David Hand and Brian Humffries 71/64 ¼ and the runners-up Peter Forbes and Colin Coleman scored 72/62 ½ .  Nearest the pin 1st/10th A grade was John Nankervis and in B Grade George Harrison.  On 9th/18th David Hand was the only contender.

Mon. 28 May - Women’s 9 holes stableford/stroke competition in very blustery conditions was won by Adele Rowarth with nett 32.  The runner-up was Vicki Hannah with nett 34.  Putting was won by Janice McKenzie with 16 putts.

Fri. 1 Jun - Pennant dinner at Casalingo Restaurant, all women players welcome to attend

Sat. 2 Jun - Working Bee to clean the ladies room and buggy storage area followed by 9 holes of golf if the weather allows

Sun. 3 Jun - Men’s 18 hole stroke and monthly medal then the course will be closed for preparation of the June Tournament which begins Wednesday 6th June with a Men’s 4BBB stableford competition.  Some meals will be provided- please check your entry forms or the notice board at the club house.
