14th November 2016
International Trip Farewells; Casual Clothes Day; Billy Cart Race; Paralympian Richard Colman; VCE Exam Thank Yous; Report Writing Day
After three years in the planning and fundraising, we finally farewell our international trip students who fly out to India on Friday. They will be visiting Calcutta, the Taj Mahal, taking trains, trekking in mountains, rebuilding monasteries and then finishing off in the Maldives. No doubt a life changing experience for all and thousands of photos will be taken to show on their return (Jealous? Me? What makes you think that?).
This week our SRC will run another fundraising dress up day; this time an animal themed occasion. The money raised will be given to the RSPCA, along with a few blankets and other pieces that people send along.
Next Monday the 21st is our annual billy cart race down Seeberg Court starting 11:30am – all are welcome to watch the entertainment. Do you dare to stand trackside?!
Guest speaker Richard Colman, a very successful Paralympian, will come to talk to the students about setting and achieving goals. And they'll get to have a look at all of his medals!
Thank you to Wendy Varcoe, Laima Clegg, Syd Caddy and Brian Mackenzie for all their hard work and organisation to ensure the VCE exams ran smoothly, as always. Thanks also to the Cricket Club for hosting and for changing training times and for keeping it super tidy. Thanks to the Rec Reserve for mowing outside of exam times too – every little bit helps!
A reminder that next Friday the 25th is a student free 'report writing' day.
