Celebrate World Environment Day @ Wildlife Wonders
The theme for World Environment Day this year is ‘Ecosystem Restoration’ – this sits particularly well with the Conservation Ecology Centre, an organisation that works collaboratively and innovatively to develop and deliver solutions to the most urgent conservation challenges in the Otways region.
We are delighted to be celebrating this important day with an exciting book launch to be held at Wildlife Wonders, a magical place recently opened to share the secrets of the Otways and the exquisite animals that live here. Bush Tales is a delightful children’s book by local author Ali Corke and artist Mark Trinham.
For the children ...colour in this picture and bring it with you (click on the picture to print). We would love to exhibit it.
Join us for the official launch of Bush Tales. Meet the illustrator, acclaimed wildlife artist Mark Trinham, and the author, wildlife lover and writer Ali Corke. Mark and Ali will talk about their book and then share their own secrets of illustration and story writing, with plenty of opportunities for children of all ages to participate. Play the Tiger Quoll game to see how we can work to keep all wildlife safe, and enjoy specially baked biscuits from our Emu Café.
After the launch, take a walk on the wild side through the lush tree fern gullies, see koalas in the eucalypt woodlands and maybe, just maybe, spot a whale in the ocean. Our specially trained guides will help you look out for some of the animals that feature in the story. Because it’s a special day, children go free!
What better way to celebrate World Environment Day than sharing the magic of the Otways with the conservationists of the future – our children. (Children of all ages are welcome!)
