17th December 2018
THANK YOU!; CONGRATULATIONS Yr12s; Yr6 Celebration; Juniors Leap; Merry Christmas and Safe Holidays

To measure you by your smallest deed is to reckon the power of ocean by the frailty of its foam’, or so says the Khalil Gibran poem ‘Farewell’. But to consider the collection of all our small and large deeds and all of those in between in 2018 amounts to another wonderful year at Apollo Bay College.

Much of these deeds would not be possible without the generosity of our parents, friends, volunteers and the wider Apollo Bay community. You all give up your time and money to support our students and provide them with experiences and opportunities to match (and surpass!) any city school. Thank you to everyone who is part of our school year.

Congratulations to our Year 12s, who performed beyond expectation, nearly 80% of them earned ATARs higher than the state average. Four of them achieving over 90 which is outstanding. Ella Summers is 2018 Dux with an ATAR of 97.2! (look out for this weekend's Age newspaper)

For out of towners considering a sea change…why wouldn’t you?! New enrolments always happily taken!

Year 6s had their special day celebrating the end of primary school. Then all of the Junior students took part in Leap where they moved into their next year level for a day, ready for 2019.

And so to finish with Gibran…’Yea I shall return with the tide…’ in this case the tide of January 30th when transition interviews begin. Merry Christmas and a safe holiday to you all.
