Applications for Council’s 2022 – 23 Grants Program now open

Colac Otway community groups, event organisers and businesses have the opportunity to secure funding for their projects through Colac Otway Shire Council’s 2022-23 Grants Program.
Applications for Council’s annual grants program are now open with applicants encouraged to apply for funding from the following categories: Community Grants Program; Community Events and Support; Major ‘Community Organised’ Events; Small Grants; Building Façade Improvement Program and Small Business Environmental Sustainability Program.
The Colac Otway Shire Grants Program provides clubs, event organisers, community groups, schools, other organisations and businesses with an opportunity to share in a total pool of over $311,500 (subject to budget approval).
Mayor Kate Hanson said the grants program provides Colac Otway groups and businesses with the chance to secure funding toward worthwhile local projects and events.
“Each year, the grants program is a wonderful opportunity for our clubs, organisations and event organisers to obtain financial assistance to help fund projects and events that have a positive impact on the wider community.
“Our local clubs, groups and businesses do so much good for Colac Otway and the grants program provides an opportunity to deliver some fantastic projects such as purchase equipment, carry out facility upgrades, undertake training and deliver community, sport, recreation and arts and cultural activities.
“Council was really pleased that a lot of our small towns applied for grants in the 2021-22 program with many community projects funded for small towns in the shire.
“This included funding for a cricket pitch mower for the Warrion Cricket Club, funding for the Lavers Hill Public Hall Committee for the Festival of Small Halls and a revitalisation of the viewing shelter shed at the Forrest Horse Riding Club.
“The annual grants program creates significant partnerships between Council and the community and we encourage groups, businesses and clubs to apply,” Cr Hanson said.
