Become a Family Day Care Educator in Colac Otway

Council is offering people in Colac Otway the opportunity to become Family Day Care Educators to provide care and early childhood education for children in the local community.

Family Day Care is a community service which provides quality childcare based in a home environment for babies and children (up to 12 years of age).

Council’s Manager of Healthy Active Communities Tamzin McLennan said working as a Family Day Care Educator offered flexible and rewarding career choices.

220426 COS Hayley“There are many benefits to being a Family Day Care Educator, most significantly is the difference you can make to the lives of local children every day but there’s also the flexibility of running your own business and caring for children in your own home.

“Family Day Care is a career that can work around your family and your lifestyle, in that you get to choose the hours and days that you work.”

Council will be hosting an information night for interested people to speak with Council and those working in Colac Otway as Family Day Care Educators.

“I encourage anyone who may be interested in finding out more about becoming a Family Day Care Educator to join us at an information night from 6pm on Thursday 4 May at COPACC. You’ll get to talk to educators from our community to learn about their experiences and hear first-hand how rewarding it is as a career,” Ms McLennan said.

“Council has a team of people to provide Family Day Care Educators with support and guidance, who will be available for people to speak to at the information night.

“We’re committed to ensuring we provide the best quality care in line with national guidelines, so that every child attending our service has an opportunity to thrive and learn.

“We’d love to grow our Family Day Care services across the shire, from Colac to Apollo Bay and in our small towns, we welcome anyone who may be interested to come along to the information night or contact us at Council.

“The demand for childcare services is growing and we need more Educators to expand so we can cater for our community’s childcare needs.

“Family Day Care offers wonderful benefits including an opportunity to work with a small group of children, where you will form long-lasting and meaningful relationships with children and their families.”

Council’s Family Day Care Information Night will be held on Wednesday May 4 from 6pm in the Civic Hall at COPACC (95-97 Gellibrand Street, Colac). The information night is child-friendly with fun activities to be provided.
