Council seeking community input for the 2021-22 budget
November 19, 2020
Colac Otway Shire Council is encouraging all residents to have their say about where they would like to focus community resources over the coming years via an online survey.
Council General Manager of Corporate Services Errol Lawrence said the survey is an opportunity for community members to submit thoughts and ideas for consideration to be included in the annual budget.
“The survey is an opportunity for the community to make suggestions on existing service levels, new projects, asset maintenance or upgrades that may be considered by Council for the 2021-22 annual budget and into the future.
“The role of Local Government is to plan and deliver services in health, planning and building, community assets and infrastructure, business and economic development, waste and environmental management and social and community services - Council encourage you to contribute ideas based around any of these areas.
“COVID restrictions mean that face to face community engagement is unable to take place, however we invite the community to share their ideas via the online survey, or pick up a hard copy from Council’s Customer Service Centres in Colac or Apollo Bay.
“If you can’t get to a Customer Service Centre, please contact Council and we’ll arrange to get a copy to you by post,” Mr Lawrence said.
The survey is online now at Council’s website until Friday 4 December.
