Notice of Road Closure – Old Bay Road, Apollo Bay

Colac Otway Shire Council has employed local contractors to repair three land slips along Old Bay Road, Apollo Bay.
Due to the nature of the works, Council will close the road to through traffic from 10 December, 2018 to 28 February, 2019.
Old Bay Road is located between Binns and Killala roads and receives little traffic along this route; no properties are directly affected by the closure.
Works to be conducted include boring piers, constructing retaining walls and reinstatement of the road at the points where landslip occurred.
The contractor has notified nearby residents of the road closure; the Apollo Bay CFA, police, ambulance, Powercor and DELWP have been also been notified along with local businesses who may be affected.
Existing gates at each end of the Old Bay Road will be closed; barricades will also been installed as well as signage advising of works taking place.
Works are funded as a part of Government Funded Flood Recovery.
