South West Victoria Rallies for Resilience – Community Event to Support Drought-Affected Locals
6th June 2025
South West Victoria is coming together in an extraordinary show of support for its drought-affected communities, with a major fundraising event planned for the "Hey Mate, We Have Your Back" resilience program. This initiative aims to provide crucial assistance to individuals and families facing the ongoing challenges of drought, reinforcing the unwavering spirit of regional Australians.
Colac Otway Shire Council is proud to support the event, which has been enthusiastically backed and driven by the community, demonstrating the commitment locals have toward ensuring no one faces hardship alone. In a significant move, the South West Community Foundation has partnered with the event organisers as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Status 2 partner. This collaboration ensures that all contributions are tax deductible and will be professionally managed, guaranteeing funds reach the grassroots level where they are needed most.
