Update on the Status of the Apollo Bay, Skenes Creek and Marengo Community Infrastructure Plan (CIP) Project
September 3, 2020

Tract Consultants were appointed in 2019 to prepare the Apollo Bay, Skenes Creek and Marengo Community Infrastructure Plan (CIP), including as a distinct component, a Development Plan for redevelopment of the Apollo Bay Harbour.  During the course of 2020 it has become apparent that it was going to be a difficult task to complete the overall CIP project in one stage.  With the arrival of the City Deal Funding, and given that the Harbour Development Plan was relatively well progressed while many issues still require resolution in the broader CIP before its finalisation, priority has been given to the Harbour Development Plan in order to meet funding timelines and approvals. This resulted in a decision to progress the Harbour Development Plan in advance of the broader CIP.

Tract Consultants have prepared a draft Development Plan for the Harbour based on extensive engagement with the community in addition to consultation with the Apollo Bay Harbour Redevelopment Project Control Group, the Port of Apollo Bay Consultative Committee, the Apollo Bay Golf Club Committee and a variety of associated government agencies.

The draft Apollo Bay Harbour Development Plan is now on exhibition.  This marks a major milestone in the redevelopment of the Apollo Bay Harbour Precinct, following many years of planning and advocacy.

Exhibition is open until 18th October 2020, during which time submissions are invited from all interested community members and stakeholders.

Details of the community consultation, as well as copies of the draft Development Plan and a range of supporting documentation and submission form is available on the Colac Otway Shire website.
