New Winter Festival for Apollo Bay
9th March 2017
Apollo Bay is set to have a new winter festival beginning in July.
Supported by Regional Development Victoria, it is aimed at increasing visitations to the town during winter and has been named WinterWild. It set to kick off on Saturday 1 July with further programs on 15 and 29 July, then closing on 12 August. WinterWild aims to tackle the fierce wintry conditions of the Otways winter head-on. It will program a series of spectacles on the beach based around a large bonfire and then link to music and performance events in local venues.
A very energetic organising committee has been formed and is meeting fortnightly. We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas.
If you manage a venue, let us know if you are keen to host a music performance.
If you own a restaurant or café, we’d love to partner with you to share some acts or themes.
If you are an accommodation provider, let us know if you can offer great packages, particularly to visiting artists.
If you are an artist, performer or musician, feel free to pitch an idea.
WinterWild needs the whole town behind it to thrive, so spread the word and get involved if you can. WinterWild is about our community bouncing back after the fires and road closures and showing the world the special spirit and character we have to offer.
Watch this space for updates on how the program is developing.
