Cyprus Trees
27 November 2017
The Otway Coast Committee (OCC) would like to advise the community that works will commence on the Cypress Trees, along the Foreshore and the Great Ocean Road between the Wild Dog Road Bridge through to the Skate Park, over the coming weeks.
The works being undertaken are following an arborist report requested by OCC. There will be some delays along the Great Ocean Road leading into town whilst these works are being carried out and we apologies for any inconvenience this may cause the Community. However, Traffic Management measures will be in place during this period.
The OCC will be working on a Precinct Plan, commencing at the Service Station through to the Golf Club. Accordingly, we would appreciate hearing back from you (our Community) on your thoughts re the Cypress Trees given they are becoming old and are now unsafe.
Some examples suggested are: we could make statues out of them thus creating an interesting lead in to Apollo Bay, or do we remove and replace them with native vegetation?
So please give some thought to this matter as when the Community Consultation of the Precinct Plan is undertaken these will be some of the questions asked.
We thank you for your patience whilst these works are undertaken. In the meantime we hope you continue to enjoy the area and we look forward to hearing back from you should you have any comments.
