Senior’s Hall Update
Marrar Woorn Neighbourhood House, Colac Otway Shire and Otway Health are involved in a joint project to improve the facilities at the Apollo Bay Seniors Centre.
Funding from the 2018 Pick my Project round ($200,000) will go a long way in improving facilities. The Colac Otway Shire have committed extra funds, aside from the Pick my Project income, to renovate the kitchen at the Seniors Hall. Renovation of the new kitchen is scheduled to begin in the week of 6th May and be completed by the 27th May. All user-groups of the Seniors Centre have been advised of these works, which will affect the kitchen area only. The main hall and the toilets will remain in use throughout the kitchen works. All user groups have been given the option to change venue during this time to Marrar Woorn Neighbourhood House. Marrar Woorn is working closely with the Colac Otway Shire to ensure that minimum disruption occurs to any outstanding Seniors Centre bookings during this period. We are all really looking forward to the new kitchen as it will be the first of many improvements to come at the Apollo Bay Seniors Centre.
