Latest Results; Coming Up; No Excercise Classes till August; Rules Workshop

On Wednesday 15th July a field of 10 men played the 18 hole Par competition in pleasant winter weather. The Winner was John Nankervis, who finished square, with Runner up Colin Coleman on -1. Nearest the pin on the 1st/10th for A grade was B. Coller, B grade Richard Tantau and on the 9th/18th was Colin Coleman.

Sunday's competition was a stroke round with the Winner in A grade being D. Ivens 73.12.61, Darren Gill with 69.7.62 being runner-up. B Grade, 19-36 handicap, was Rick Johnston with 87.22.65, with runner-up awarded to Lance Thomas with 93.28.65. Nearest the pin on 1st/10th was David Ivens, who also drove the 9th/18th to win that as well.

Many players from the club are enjoying a golf trip to Merimbula so our fields have been smaller than usual, however on Thursday 16th July, in very cold weather, seven players competed in a ladies stableford round. There was only one grade and the winner was Dawn Thomas with 30 points followed by Vicki Hannah on 28 points. Vicki also won nearest the pin on the 1st/10th hole.

Monday was a beautiful sunny day, perfect golfing weather. Seven players competed in a stroke round, the winner being Jeanette Dodds with 52.15.37 with runner up ½ a stroke behind, Kerryn Wagstaff 47.9 ½ .37 ½ . The putting competition was won by Cheryle Polgeest with 14 putts.

Coming Up

Thursday 23rd is a stroke round for the ladies, while Monday 27th is scheduled to be a Pinehurst competition but, due to the absence of many players will probably be another stroke round.

Wednesday 29th July is a men's stroke competition, being the second round of the four weeker competition, Saturday is a mixed 4BBB stableford competition, bring dinner to share afterwards. Sunday 2nd August is a stroke and monthly medal, plus Winter shield ( round 3) for men players.

For the ladies there will be no exercise classes before Monday golf until August.

There will be a Rules workshop for both men and women players held at Queens Park Golf Club on Wednesday 29th July 7-9 pm at no cost. We will car pool for those interested, so add your name to the list on the board at the clubhouse if you wish to participate.
