Wed. 27 Jan ’16 – Women’s & Men’s Stableford

The new golf season is under way with a men’s and ladies’ stableford event. A field of 20 men and 5 ladies played.

Women – Winner – Martha MacIntyre 39 points; Runner Up – Lyn Box 36 points

Men – Winner – Bob Hansen 38 points; Runner Up – Peter Forbes 37 points

NTP

Women – 10th – Martha MacIntyre

Men – 1st/10th – Doug Honey; 9th/18th – John Dwyer

Thu. 28 Jan ’15 – Women’s 3 Person Ambrose

A cloudy, muggy day with the threat of rain which didn’t eventuate greeted the 21 ladies who played the opening day round of 3-person Ambrose.

Winners – Vicki Hannah, Caroline Wren & Shirley Amery with an impressive 73-14 1/3 – 58 2/3; Runners Up – Stacey Thomas, Sue McKenzie & Joycie Henderson – 76-141/3 – 61 2/3

The winners had a great putting score of 22 putts, but with captain’s call of one trophy per winner, the winning 25 putt score, also impressive, belonged to Sandra Toone, Norma Begeley & Helen Pini.

The presentations were followed by a delicious lunch provided by the ladies. Apologies to past lady members who did not receive a personal invitation to attend, this will be remedied for future events when the new syllabus is available.

Mon. 01 Feb ’16 – Women’s 9 Holes Stroke

A beautiful summer’s day greeted the 18 ladies for their first 9- hole stroke round.

A Grade 0-28 – Winner – Vicki Hannah 40-7-33 c/b from Runner Up – Janice McKenzie 45-12-33

B Grade – Winner – Faith Morrissy 51-22 ½ -28 ½; Runner Up – Jeanette Dodds 34 nett

Putting overall – Cheryle Polgeest 14 putts

Sadly, one of our lady members, Bev Morris, died last week and we offer sincere condolences to her family.

Ladies are reminded that a $15 fee for all events including yearly putting, eclectic, championships, etc. is payable to the Treasurer ASAP.

On the subject of past lady members, could anyone who still has a ladies room key or buggy room key please put key/s in an envelope with your name and post this in the green fee box outside the office as number of keys have not been returned. Vicki Thomas will be holding golf lessons for those ladies interested. These sessions are subsidised by a past ladies fund-raiser and will be held after golf on 15th & 22nd February and 7th and 21st March.

Wed. 03 Feb - Men’s 4 Weeker Round 1 Stableford

Thu. 04 Feb – Ladies Summer Cup – Round 1 – 18 holes stroke flexitime, arrange own playing groups of 3.  Meet afterwards for lunch – today at Cafe 153.  Any other past lady members who miss their golfing mates, are also encouraged to join us for lunch.

Working Bee

Fri. 05 Feb – 9.30am to 12.30pm – Morning tea supplied. Please be there if you can, even for a short while, to help the greens committee keep our course in tip-top shape.
