Dear Interested Community Member
18 June 2019
Southern Otways Sustainable (SOS) regret to advise, that due to circumstances beyond our control, our “Community Solar Purchase Program” is postponed to a later date. We appreciate that many residents have waited patiently for the launch of our program and we share your disappointment with this further delay.
There is currently a “Solar Residential Program” launching in our Community this week. Following discussions with our energy partner Mondo Power, we accept that our broader community is too small for two competing solar programs.
SOS is driven to achieve the best community and environmental outcomes, and we feel this is in the best interests of the community, given the circumstances.
In regard to the State Government rebates, we share this quote from the Solar.vic.gov.au website:
"..this landmark program (is) delivering renewable energy to 770,000 Victorian households over 10 years. This includes 700,000 solar panel rebates..."
If there is sufficient interest later in the year SOS will offer another community solar program. For those looking to act sooner, we completely understand and we wish you the best with your research and solar purchase. We take the opportunity to remind you of these independent advisory services:
Our commercial/community building solar program continues. This program is cooperation between SOS, Beyond Zero Emissions (BZE) and Mondo Power. It encompasses community buildings, commercial buildings and farms.
The program offers a free snapshot assessment, enabling solar solutions with quotes and designs tailored to the specific usage pattern of the interested business/building user.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the community for your enduring support.
