Pool Update
12th September 2022

The pool closed last week for some overdue maintenance. For the past 12 months we have been managing the heating and filtration systems. While it was disappointing to have to shut the pool for four days to allow these works to be completed, it was a significantly shorter closure than anticipated.

The school council would like to thank Heather Munro for her work over the last 12months; maintaining an ageing system that was part of the original pool and designed for an outdoor seasonal pool, not an indoor pool open 12 months of the year. Her vast experience in running pools has allowed the pool to remain open on many occasions when it could have been closed.

It is important to highlight to the community that when enclosing the pool and adding a heating system, the money raised did not upgrade the plant room. Through Heather’s experience and good financial management, the College has been able to make minor upgrades to the plantroom.

Ensuring our pool is accessible for 12 months of the year has not been without challenges, while the pool looks shiny and new on the outside the plantroom is essentially 30 years old. The school council will continue to source and commit necessary funding to bring the plant room into the 21st century and thank both Heather and the community for your ongoing support and patience as such works arise.
