Literacy Week, Council Tour New School, Senior School Formal, Shared Dinner with the Principal

What a fantastic display of acting and creativity we had last Thursday with our Literacy Week performances!

Groups of students from Prep-11 planned and performed a short skit which had to incorporate four randomly assigned props. There was much hilarity and the judges' decision was very difficult!

The winners of the writing competition can now be unveiled:

Prep-2: Lyra Philp, R/up Isabel Cook

Year 3-6: Angus Cook, R/up William Orchard

Year 7-9: Jane Nicholls, R/up Ella Summers

Year 10-12: Seamus Fillmore, R/up Pat Armstrong

Continuing the writing vein, Judah O'Donnell and Jamie Summers wrote a poem together about the Otways and won the year 3-6 division of the Colac Rotary Poetry Competition. Congratulations!

As I walk along this beautiful road,
I see cars, buses, trucks, the load.
I walk through the bushes to the beach,
I then look down to see a leech.
I walk down to the crashing waves on the sand.
I feel the water with my hand.
I tread through the water up to my knees.
I stare back up at the high rising trees.
I dive under a glassy wave.
The cricket ball is hit.
I end the game with a spectacular save.

School council were given a tour of the new school to assist in upcoming decision making regarding furniture and landscaping expenditure.

The senior school formal was held in Lorne in conjunction with other schools in our region. Much deliberation has happened over what to wear, partners and music - we hope they had fun!

And a date for the diary – all family and friends are invited to an end of term celebration on Wednesday 17th September. This will be held from 5-7pm at the Anglican Church Hall – bring along a plate of something to share for dinner. It is an opportunity to meet principal, Tiffany Holt, provide feedback to the school and spend some time with each other.
