Yr 9 Bronzers; Yrs 5&6 Lavers Hill visit; Yrs 7&8 Lightstation visit; Next year's Preps' parents visit; Next year's VCE starts; Music Concert; Bimbi Park weekend
Our Year 9 students will work on their Bronze Medallion at the Surf Lifesaving Club this week, learning the finer points of ocean rescuing and first aid. They will be ready to take part in beach patrols over summer.
Our Year 5 & 6 students travel to Lavers Hill to take part in a joint educational activity with the students up there – they will go swimming and have a special session of Art.
The year 7 & 8 students visit the Cape Otway Lightstation to have a Koorie education session and try out orienteering.
The parents of next year's Prep students will visit the school for the last time before their big day in 2015. It gives them the chance to meet the teachers again, ask questions and watch the classrooms in action.
Next year's VCE students also begin their subjects, meeting their teachers and learning about course requirements. They also receive their holiday homework, which I expect they are thrilled about.
Our end of year instrumental music concert is on today, with all students demonstrating their terrific musical learning from their lessons.
This weekend (the 6th/7th December) is the family weekend at Bimbi Park – most cabins are booked, but there are still tent sites available and families are welcome to come out just for a day to be part of festivities. Rock climbing is available Saturday and Frank will be making his famous woodfired pizzas on Saturday night – proceeds from both of these go towards the Kitchen Garden program.
