8th December 2014
EOY Celebrations; Awards Night; Move into New Buildings; Yr8 Camp; Deb Aird in Cambodia; New Head of Junior School
Our final week of the normal school timetable! Next Monday, the 15th of December, is a special end of year celebration day with all classes from Prep to year 8 taking part in organised activities. The day will be followed by the Award Nights for the Junior and Senior schools.
Here is the running sheet for the night:
4:00 – Junior School Awards Night (Leisure Centre)
5:15-5:45 – BBQ and Staff vs Year 12 sport event
6:00 – 7pm – Senior School Awards Night
The rest of that week (16-19th December) is a 'send you child/ren only if you have no alternative' scenario. This is because staff will be madly moving into the new school! As mentioned previously, once we have finalised jobs and dates we will be asking for help with this process.
On other news, our Year 8 students are spending the week buffing up their biceps by paddling down the Glenelg River. In between time in the canoes, they'll fish, mud wrestle and attempt to eat a dry Weetbix in less than two minutes – apparently only 1% of the population can achieve this!
Teacher, Deb Aird, has just completed a stint in Cambodia working at a school there. She helped upskill the local teachers in various teaching and learning techniques, as well as forming some great connections for our College.
New Head of Junior School, Andrea Leeder, meets the staff this week and will help with arrangements for the classes in the new buildings.
