Yr12 Hikers return, Student Leadership Conference, PD Session for Soundwaves Spelling Program, Tour De Cure, Landscaping, SAKG, Rehearsals for School Production
This week brings the return of our Cradle Mountain trekkers, who will be in good need of a hot shower and a comfy bed.
Our Senior School SRC representatives headed to Geelong for a student leadership conference to be inspired to return to school and develop their own ideas for our student body.
The Junior School teachers attend an afterschool professional development (PD) session on our new spelling program 'Soundwaves'.
Our Junior School students will have an informative talk by the Tour De Cure riders who are raising money to fight cancer.
We are also in the final stages of the landscaping of the new school, meaning our grand opening won't be too far off. As mentioned before, plenty of notice will be given for those interested in attending.
Students have been happily utilising our brand new kitchen as the second building is now operational in our new school. The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program now extends into the senior school, with delicious feasts created several times a week. Volunteers are always welcome – no professional experience (other than home cooking) needed.
Rehearsals have begun for the school play this term, with script read-throughs and initial castings on Wednesday afternoons. Junior School students have been working on the songs in music lessons, both kinds of music of course...country and western (woeful attempt at plagiarising Blues Brothers humour).
