Josh Cooper's Victorian Premier's VCE Award; Zac; SRC; Exams; New Student Welfare Officer & Student Aide; Financial Assistance; Lego Club; Junior Assembly
We are very proud to announce that Josh Cooper (graduated 2014) was the recipient of a Victorian Premier's VCE Award for Further Mathematics – he achieved a perfect study score of 50. This is an exclusive award – congratulations!
The year 5 & 6 students had a special visit from a fluffy visitor called Zac. Mrs Whelan's pet dog is to become a regular visitor to her classroom as a reward for good behaviour... plus he's pretty cute as well.
Student voice is being addressed through the SRC through a new program of 'Teach the Teacher'. This involves a commitment to listen to the voices of students, to take their concerns seriously, and to build student-teacher partnerships for school improvement. The program starts with conversations, but is not just 'talk'. SRC students will take part in two regional conferences to help with this process.
Exam week for our Senior School students, with lots of last minute studying and practise.
We welcome Kate Hedrick Wagstaff who takes on her role as Student Welfare Officer and Adrian Daly who will be working in the role of student aide.
There is a new 'Camp, Sport and Excursion Fund' available through the Victorian Government. Concession card holders are provided with financial assistance for these events and invited to visit the office to apply by the 26th June.
We are hoping to start a Lego club – if you have any you would be happy to donate, please let us know.
There will be a Junior Assembly 9:15am Friday 12th June in the Leisure Centre.
