15th June 2015
Yr9 RACV Road Safety Campaign; Chess Tournament; Careers with Cows; PD with Stephan Graham; End of Term
We are very proud of a group of our year 9 students, Estelle Shircore Barker, Morgan Stewart, Ruby Morrow and Ella Summers. They made the top three finalists in an RACV road safety campaign design. They now meet with a Melbourne advertising agency to polish their campaign, after which it will be released for voting on the RACV Facebook page. Stay tuned for more information, but good luck to the girls!
A very enthusiastic bus load of chess enthusiasts head to Colac this week to take on the Grand Masters of the Otways (okay not quite grand masters, but I am allowed a little creative licence with this job, surely?!).
On the same day a smaller group of students head off to Terang for a 'Careers with Cows' workshop as part of the project involving the raising of the calves. Speaking of calves, what did the mother cow say to her calf? It's pasture bedtime...hehehe.
Teachers are very busy preparing their mini projects, which they are going to work on with Stephan Graham when he visits for two days next week. He has run the last two Professional Development (PD) sessions with regards to teaching writing effectively and will now work in the classrooms, which is very exciting.
Now, who ever said life is quieter in the country?!
The last day of school is next Friday, 26th of June - it is an early finish at 1pm.
