House Athletics; Kitchen Garden; Reading Dog; Yr5-6 Parodies
Our focus turns from the pool to the track this week for Athletics Day on Friday, the new long jump pits are a vast improvement on the previous strips of fake grass and mounded sand, thanks to Little Athletics for helping to fund these. The houses will be hotly contending the events and even our Prep/1/2 students can have some fun with beanbags and relays.
In our Kitchen Garden program year 3-6 students will be busy preserving our bountiful summer harvest into chutneys, pickles and preserved lemons and will be selling these shortly – stay tuned!
Ever heard of a dog that can read? Well we have! We are very lucky (and amazed) to have a visiting 'Reading Dog' who listens to our students read and lets them know when they're getting it right.
The year 5/6 classes are halfway through writing and recording their parodies in the style of Weird Al Yankovic – stay tuned for lots of food based references when these are released (will KFC be calling their lawyers Matty O?!).
