Running Festival; Cross Country & Girls Footy; Kitchen Garden; Book Fair; Big Band Workshop
9th May 2022

The school community will be out in force during Running Festival weekend encouraging runners, especially some of our own staff and pupils competing, while manning drink stations, handing out medals and more for the event which has become the College’s biggest fundraiser in recent years.

Sticking with the running theme, and our students hit Marengo Reserve for Cross Country. Successful athletes qualified for regional titles at Colac and Warrnambool later in the month. We also had a girls’ footy team make their way to Central Reserve to compete against Colac teams, with the squad of Year Seven to Nines picking up the game quickly and managing to hit the scoreboard.

On the school’s grounds, our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden is better than ever, with Dave and Dav’s team on the lookout for volunteer help, while Sue has been busy in the library with the big Book Fair approaching.

The music team is tuning up to host the first Combined Big Band Workshop Day on May 24. We have invited Lavers Hill and Trinity College students to the college in a bid to build strong musical connections across the Otways with our talented young musicians. The day will finish with a 30-minute concert.
