First Nations Peoples Celebration Day; Yrs 5&6 Mission To Mars; Woodwork Exhibition; Aria Awards - GOOD LUCK MATTY O!!
21st November 2022

Local Indigenous people and leaders will help the school launch its inaugural First Nations Peoples Celebration Day this week. All classes from Prep through to Grade Nine will be devoted to activities celebrating First Nations Culture and people in our school and community. Session activities include, art and dance, culture, sport, plants, animals and cooking, with Nat Morrow, Richard Collopy, Dale Hyatt and Mick Cannon all putting their hand up to be involved in the event.

A mission to Mars was the latest adventure for our Grade Five and Six students last week. The crew travelled to the Victorian Space Science Education Centre in Melbourne where they put their problem-solving skills to the test to successfully complete a geological survey of the Mars surface. Students put on specially-designed spacesuits and acted as astronauts, mission controllers and research scientists. Mission Control officers communicated via radio to the astronauts on the surface, and were responsible for their safety and the success of the scientific mission. To celebrate their successful journey into space, students stopped in at Maccas on the way home.

An exhibition showcasing our students’ woodwork pieces from this year will be starting at the school from next Tuesday through to Friday.

ARIA awards 2022Don’t forget to follow the Aria Awards in Sydney this Thursday night to spot Matty O. The king of the school’s House of Rock, Matty Orchard, has been nominated for Aria’s Music Teacher of the Year award and will walk the red carpet tonight. Coverage starts at 7:30pm on Chanel Nine.
