Apollo Bay roundabout to receive nautical-style makeover

A roundabout in Apollo Bay will receive a nautical-style makeover as part of Colac Otway Shire Council’s ongoing roundabout upgrade program.
Work on the roundabout at the intersection of Pascoe and Nelson streets will begin in mid-March and weather permitting will be complete by the end of March.
Infrastructure and Leisure Services General Manager Tony McGann said Council’s Parks and Gardens team had designed the roundabout to reflect Apollo Bay’s seafaring heritage.
“The upgraded roundabout will feature indigenous coastal plantings, river pebbles and a centre sculptural feature referencing the seaside,” he said.
“This is the third roundabout in the shire that our staff have created special designs for, and they’re looking forward to working on some roundabouts in Apollo Bay.”
It is anticipated the upgrades will have minimal disruption to traffic in the area.
