Council launches three new customer-focused websites
April 21, 2016

Colac Otway Shire Council has this week launched three new customer-focussed websites which aim to make it easier for people to interact with Council online.

Modern, easy to navigate websites for Council, Bluewater and COPACC went live earlier this week with lots of new features that will benefit the community.

Chief Executive Officer Sue Wilkinson said Council's new website featured bill paying, a new events calendar, and self-help functions that would assist people to easily find out information such as their rubbish collection days.

"We know that people are busy and don't have the time to come to Council's offices to pay bills. Our new website offers online bill paying for four bill types – rates bills, general statements, general invoices and home care statements. And we're working on making other bills payable online in the near future.

"We're really excited about our new events calendar, which will showcase the rich diversity of events that take place in our shire.

"The new website has other great self-help functions such as the 'my neighbourhood' module, which showcases all the different facilities and features near their address, including sports grounds and rubbish days.

"More and more, our community wants to access information and services from Council online, and our new website makes this easy."

COPACC's new website has some fantastic features including the ability to watch preview clips of upcoming shows online.

Meanwhile, Bluewater's new website is now as modern as the new facility and offers handy features such as a pool availability page which details when lap lanes will be free.

Ms Wilkinson said Council was proud of its new websites, which were 'mobile responsive', meaning it would function just as well on a mobile phone or ipad as it would a desktop computer.

"Our new websites further reinforce Council's commitment to being more efficient and easy to deal with, as well being as more accessible, open and transparent with our information."
