Council seeks to improve community funding programs through feedback
October 20, 2017
The community is encouraged to provide feedback on how Colac Otway Shire Council’s $320,000 annual grant programs can be improved.
Grants are a much valued and vital source of funding for the community and benefit various events and projects across the shire such as Birregurra Festival and Arts Show, Colac Driver Reviver, Apollo Bay Chamber of Commerce and Anam Cara House.
Funding is provided through the Small Town Improvement Program, Community Funding Program and the Festival and Events Support Scheme.
Council’s Acting Chief Executive Officer Robert Dobrzynski says this is an opportune time for the community to help shape Council’s grant programs and streamline the application process to make it more convenient for volunteer and community groups.
“Council is continually looking at ways we can improve our processes and interactions with the community and this is a great way for the community to have input into the grants process”, he said.
“If you have applied for a Council grant or not or been involved in a project that received funding Council encourages you to provide feedback on how the process or funding itself might be improved”.
Feedback can be completed via an online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ColacOtwayGrantPrograms or through Council’s website www.colacotway.vic.gov.au and is available until 5pm 10 November 2017.
