No decision made on future Gran Fondo permits

Colac Otway Shire Council has reassured the community that it is committed to considering feedback as part of its review of the 2017 Amy’s Gran Fondo event.
Acting Mayor Stephen Hart made the comments after some Apollo Bay residents expressed concern that the Fondo had already started advertising next year’s event.
“Council has not made any decisions on the future of the event, and right now our focus is on gathering feedback from the community and businesses to feed into our review,” Cr Hart said.
“It is important to note that Council is one of many permitting authorities involved with this event and any decisions on its future will involve a range of stakeholders including the Otway Coast Committee, the Colac Otway and Surf Coast shires and VicRoads and emergency services.”
