Youth Art Competition returns in 2026
10th February 2026
Colac Otway Shire Council is inviting young people aged 12 to 25 to get creative and take part in the 2026 Youth Art Futures Competition.
The annual competition provides an opportunity for young artists to showcase their work, build confidence, and have their creations exhibited both in person and online for the wider community to enjoy.
Council encourages young people working in any art form, from painting and drawing to sculpture, textiles, woodwork, or digital art to submit their work.
Colac Otway Shire Mayor, Cr Jason Schram said the competition continues to shine a light on the incredible talent of young people across the Shire.
“Each year, we’re blown away by the creativity and depth of talent among young artists in our region. Youth Art Futures is all about giving young people a platform to express themselves and be celebrated by the community.”
“Whether you’re into painting, digital art, sculpture or mixed media, we want to see it. This is your space, your stage, and your chance to shine,” Cr Schram said.
Competition entries close on Monday 16 March 2026. For more information and to enter, visit the Shire website.
All entries will be displayed in a public exhibition at the Colac Otway Performing Arts and Cultural Centre (COPACC), 95–97 Gellibrand Street, Colac, from Saturday 28 March to Sunday 19 April 2026,
