Results

Wed. 28 Feb - Men's Two Man Ambrose - resulted in a win for M Lavery and D Wagstaff with 61¼ nett.  Runners-up were B McKenzie and R Stone with 62 nett.  A Grade Nearest the Pin 1st/10th was Geoff Vesey and John Nankervis was nearest for B Grade.

Thu. 1 March - Women’s Summer Cup - Final round - produced the following results: 0-27 Janice McKenzie scored 86-25-61 to win and runner-up Norma Begely had 95-22-73. In the 28-45 division, Sami Oguzhan won with 102-35-67 on a count-back from runner-up Jan Shaw who scored 101-34-67.  The putting was won in A grade by Janice McKenzie, with 29 putts and in B Grade Sami Oguzhan won with 29 putts.

The Summer Cup winner in A Grade was Janice McKenzie with 203.  Runner-up Jill Fowler scored 206.  In B Grade the Summer cup winner Faith Morrissy scored 201 and runner-up Jan Shaw pipped Adele Rowarth on a count-back with 208.

Fri. 2 Mar - Women's Otway Penant - hosted by Apollo Bay. Earlier in the week three women players from Apollo Bay won the Barwon Heads Bowl with 110 points.  Congratulations to Vicki Hannah, who with 40 points also won the individual trophy for the day, Lyn Box with 37 points and Jill Fowler with 33 points. Well done girls!

Fri. 2 Mar - Chicken Run - this week was won by Alex Baird with 21 points and Brian McKenzie with 19 points.

Sat. 3 Mar - 18 Hole Mixed Pinehurst - Official opening day.  Neil and Di Hinds were the winners with nett 60 5/8 and the runners-up with 63 5/8 were Janice and Graham McKenzie.  Best Gross score winners with 75, were Craig McKenzie and Vicki Hannah.  Nearest the Pin 1st/10th was Jean Hansen for the women and Graham McKenzie for the men.  On 9th/18th hole, Vicki Hannah had the closest women’s shot and Brian McKenzie was the most accurate of the men players.

Sun. 4 Mar - Men’s 18 Hole Stroke & Monthly Medal. In A Grade, Craig McKenzie was the winner with 70/61 and runner-up Colin Coleman scoring 74/63.  In B Grade Lance Thomas won with 84/57 which also netted him the monthly medal.  Runner-up Rod Beecroft scored 79/60.  Nearest the pin 1st/10th in A grade was Peter Collard and for B Grade Bewley Marlow was closest. On 9th/18th Geoff Vesey was the only contender.

Mon. 5 Mar - Women’s 9 Hole Stableford - was won by Janice McKenzie in A grade with 20 points and runner-up Norma Begely had 17 points.  B Grade’s Jeanette Dodds had 21 points to win in that grade, followed by Sami Oguzhan on a count-back from Sally Stone and Maureen Vesey with 17 points.

New players are invited to join our Monday Women's competitions for $6 and clubs can be provided.  Beginners are welcome.  Hit off is 1pm, however, arrive at 12.15 to organise clubs, cards etc and register your name.
