RACV Safe Mates Winners!; Canteen Volunteers Needed; Yr4 Kangaroobie Camp; Mentoring Progam

ab-p12c

We are most excited to announce that our year 9 students Estelle Shircore Barker, Ella Summers, Morgan Stewart and Ruby Morrow are the winners of the RACV Safe Mates Competition.  As mentioned in a previous column they were selected as one of the three group finalists to develop their campaign for Facebook.  The support from the Apollo Bay community members was instrumental in boosting their 'likes' and 'shares' (for those in with Facebook lingo!) and even though they were competing against older students and larger schools – they were declared the winners, congratulations! - ‪#‎stayfocused‬

Are you interested in helping in the school canteen?  Are you able to volunteer to help on a Tuesday from 9-1pm every week?  Carmel is in desperate need of some helpers, the invitation is open to anyone in the community – please contact the school office if you are interested.

Some very excited year 4 students head off to Kangaroobie in Princetown for their 2 night camp, which they ran a cake stall to help fund.  From all previous reports the food is excellent as is the ride in the tractor trailer!

Mentors wanted for the Mentoring Program beginning October 30th!  Billy cart races are on again and we are seeking 8 mentors to take a small group of Year 8 students for 1.5hrs each Friday and help them build their racing billy carts!  Please contact Loren at school or via This email address is being protected from spambots.
