Yr5 Sovereign Hill Camp; Book Week; Kindergarten Transition to School; Student Free Day
Our Year 5 camp to Sovereign Hill is held this week, students will see the gold pour ($100k!), go gold panning and perhaps get gold fever - half never return, running off to seek their fortune! Okay, maybe not, but they will also see the sound and light show, attend ‘olden day’ school and make so much noise over the 3 days that Burkey will need a week of leave to recover.
On Thursday our school turns into a giant story book as we all come dressed as our favourite book characters as part of Book Week.
Junior students also head all over town with books under their arms to ‘stop and read’, thank you to all of the venues who'll host our bookworms.
Kindergarten cuties come to school for the first time to visit our library and listen to some stories, this forms part of our formal transition to school program.
A reminder that next Monday is student free as staff are off to watch Timboon P-12 in action, as well as have collegial meetings with Lorne P-12.
