Parent/Volunteer Induction; Cultural and Tree Planting Day; 24-hour Walk Challenge; World Bee Day; VCE Top Acts 2022; Combined Big Band Workshop Day
23rd May 2022

Volunteer help is the backbone of how our school can provide students with the unique programs we do. To celebrate having helpers back on site, we are hosting a parent/volunteer induction session on Monday afternoon. Basic skills, strategies and expectations in helping small groups of children or individuals in a classroom setting will be covered at the forum. Please get in touch with Andrea at the school if this is something you are interested in.

Our students joined forces with the Lavers Hill school to help during Cultural and Tree Planting Day. DEWLP, GORA and local indigenous representatives were also part of the event, with our Year 10 science group and senior Outdoor Education class helping plant a significant number of native species at the redeveloped footpath along the foreshore.

Close to a whopping $7000 was spread across different charities and our principal Brian Humphries clocked up an incredible 100 kilometres by foot during the school’s 24-hour walk challenge last Thursday and Friday. Our Year Seven, Eight and Nine students powered through the event and raised vital funds for organisations close to their hearts.

The school was also buzzing on Friday celebrating World Bee Day while in Melbourne, Ned Carney, Finn Schwalger, Keahan O'Meara-Bromfield and former student Ben Wooding did the school and Bay community proud with their performance in Melbourne for VCE Top Acts 2022.

We hosted Trinity College Colac for the first Combined Big Band Workshop Day on Tuesday which was a huge success, finishing with a fantastic 30-minute performance by both schools in the Leisure Centre.
