Busy Start to Term; Yr9 $20 Boss Challenge; WORDfest; Student Free Days
1st August 2022
Term three is off to a flying start, with busy students and staff venturing across the state for professional development learnings, meetings and various school excursions and work experience rounds. Some of our staff members had busy weeks heading to Camperdown and Geelong to see how other schools operate, while our Year 12 students will get an early taste of what education might look like in the future when they head to Deakin University on Sunday.
Keep an eye out for amazing products made by our Year 9s, who have been working hard finishing their $20 Boss Challenge. Students researched, designed and put their pitch forward for items they are now putting together. Pots and plants, chopping boards, recyclable bags and aprons will be available to purchase soon, with proceeds going to charity.
The school was proud to be heavily involved during the latest edition of WORDfest last weekend. Students and staff were busy playing a role either organising, performing or being part of the crowd of what is becoming another terrific local event.
A reminder to the school community that tomorrow is a student free day, while August 18 is also another staff only day at the school to complete First Aid training, something important for the many school excursions and special outdoor activities we offer. The course will also allow staff to take the next step with lifeguard training at the pool.
