Big Band Workshop; Class of 2022; Yrs 3&4 Maths; Congratulations Gilly; VOTE FOR MATTY O!!
24th October 2022
Our budding musicians will head to Colac next week to join forces with Trinity College for the second Big Band Workshop of the year. The school’s instrumental specialist and band coordinator Kate Doherty said the event would be the first time most of her students will perform outside the school and in front of a new audience. The day not only involves a workshop, but tutorial groups and a full band run through before a performance in the afternoon. Songs include, James Bond and Star Wars anthems, with both schools joining to perform together, while the Apollo Bay cohort will execute Eye of the Tiger and Bunyip Blues at Trinity’s Jubilee Centre on Wednesday.
Lollipops created headaches for staff during the Year 12s’ final day of celebrations last week. Our departing students found their way into the rooms of the grade Preps to Year Fours, sprinkling more than 100 lollipops across those classrooms and causing chaos for teachers. A whole-school assembly was conducted to celebrate the class of 2022, with teachers and younger peers paying special tributes ahead of exams, which started yesterday with English and will continue in the coming weeks.
Family members were welcomed into the classroom of our Grade Three and Four pupils last week to celebrate maths. The Three-Four team showed off their work, while games and maths activities were a huge hit.
Congratulations to our very own Darren Gill, who claimed yet another Apollo Bay Golf Club championship. Staff members and students followed Gilly’s group in what was a thrilling final round on Sunday.
