Wear It Purple Day; Apostle Whey Visit; Yrs 3&4 Sustainable Environmental Workshops; Yrs 7&8 Basketball @ Lorne
22nd August 2022

Purple has been encouraged to replace our traditional green and blue school uniforms for Wear It Purple Day this Wednesday. The event has been created to raise awareness and provide education on building a safe, inclusive environment in support of LGBTQI+ youth in schools. Purple donuts and fundraising initiatives will be a highlight of the day.

Senior school food and outdoor education students had a special treat on Tuesday when they toured Apostle Whey Cheese. Students learnt about the cheese and dairy industry, got to sample the delicious produce and were treated to an ice cream from Rina for the trip home.

This week our Grade Three and Fours finished their sustainable environmental workshops through the Ecolink incursion. Topics from the program included; Life Cycles and Growing up on the Reef, Slimy Science, Eat or Be Eaten: Alaska, and Turtle Connections.

The coastal rivalry between Lorne and Apollo Bay turned to basketball this week when our Year Seven and Eight students hit the road to Lorne. Teams of boys and girls each won games, with the Year Eight boys dominant performers.
